Is #DocRivers crazy or is #ChrisPaul greedy. The Los Angeles #Clippers General Manager and Head Coach #DocRivers traded #ChrisPaul to the Houston Rockets because the Clippers did not want to give Mr. Paul a max deal. #ChrisPaul wanted the max deal of 5 years $200 million. The Clippers offered Mr. Paul a 4-year deal worth $160 million. What’s 40 million between friends? Right? #ChrisPaul has a history of injuries. Mr. Paul is 32 and has been playing in the league for 13 years. Has #ChrisPaul peaked? I don’t know. What I do know is that it doesn’t make good business sense to invest $200 million in an aging player who has durability issues. Being traded to the Rockets is not a gift. It’s a curse. #JamesHarden the star player of the #HoustonRockets is an incomplete player who has defensive competences issues and the team is not fundamentally built to support Mr. Paul and Mr. Harden. The dysfunction with Houston will only get worse with the addition of #ChrisPaul. This week #KevinDurant resigned with the #GoldenStateWarriors to a contract that pays him less money than he received last year but allows the team to resign all their core players and reward Steph Curry with the $200 million max deal he deserves. Did Chris Paul just play himself? A healthy Chris Paul and Blake Griffin is a talented duo that complements each players’ attributes and makes their team top contenders. Chris Paul and James Harden on the same team doesn’t make either player better, but worsens the team’s ability to win.
